Vote AGAINST IR-124

Patients for Reform – Not Repeal is a group formed in 2011 in response to the legislature’s radical restrictions on the medical use of marijuana in Montana. The group is led by seriously ill patients who were benefiting from access to medical marijuana, only to be disrupted by a bad new law, known as Senate Bill 423.

We coordinated the heroic efforts of hundreds of volunteers to require a public vote on that bad law. Volunteers collected nearly 36,000 validated voters’ signatures on petitions for a referendum. As a result, IR-124 will appear on the November 6, 2012, ballot – where we will urge all Montanans to vote AGAINST the measure.

We all understand that Montana’s medical marijuana program needs better regulation and enforcement. To make a new law that works, we must vote AGAINST IR-124 to start fresh.

Patients for Reform – Not Repeal aims for a more cooperative, bipartisan and respectful process that addresses the concerns of patients, physicians, law enforcement and communities. The most important focus should be on creating a system that works for patients.

In the months ahead, we will campaign aggressively to urge Montanans to vote AGAINST IR-124. We need your help to get the word out. Please donate your time or funds today.
